There was a time that I would need to chase Bun to get her to come inside out of the heat. Lately, she’s racing inside voluntarily. Mornings, when I open the door to Bun’s outdoor residence—our beautiful but hot screened-in porch—I see her waiting to make a beeline to the kitchen door. Her next stop is her office, where she hangs out for most of the day and evening. It’s such a relief to have her happily in the house during these hot summer days.
A few scenes from Bun’s indoor routine
Bun is super territorial. Luckily Fake Bun doesn’t actually eat.
Returning to Fake Bun to settle in for a nap after getting a sip of water.
Bun positioning herself next to Fake Bun. Readying herself for a little shuteye, Bun’s eye is at half mast. She’ll often get shuteye without closing her eyes completely, all the better to stay aware of goings on in the household.
Comfy.
Mood lighting later in the afternoon. See how Bun’s front paws are in a prayer position? Cute!
COVID update
The Paxlovid worked! Still tested positive today, but my COVID symptoms are much better.
So many of you reached out offline and through Substack comments. Thank you, all, for your care and concern ❤️
Bun is a smart Texas bunny and knows when to get out of the heat!
And good news from you. Paxlovid worked! You can check that off your list now…and get the new Covid vaccine this fall😄
Happy to hear you’re on the mend from COVID. Also happy bun has a buddy. 😁
