Readers Respond
First things first: Thank you for being here. I appreciate your support. I love commiserating with you and being hopeful about the future. I welcome outrage at the system. You have helped me to keep going.
My aim with Lagomorpha is to record my experiences with cancer. A secondary goal is to share my deep affection for the animals in my life. I hope to continue to produce a readable commentary. I love everyone’s public and offline comments. Please keep them coming.
I never intended Lagomorpha to be US-centric
One of my international readers wondered about the size of my scar. He hadn’t remembered me being so small. If I had used a tape measure in centimeters, I would indeed be tiny. The image shows the measurement in inches. That the US is stuck in the dark ages of the imperial system is no excuse for my not including the metric measurement of the scar. I’ve since added a note to the image’s caption. Apologies to my international readers.
“The struggle is real” poll results
I asked subscribers to weigh in on how they interpret the expression The struggle is real. Here are the results of that poll. As you can see, I struggle with sincerity versus irony.
Required Fortitude
Reader Sheila recommended a name for my new band: Required Fortitude. I wish I had a band! Some days a better name for my band would be Transient Fortitude. This name is already taken, though.
Navigating Lagomorpha in a browser window can be confusing
Several readers have commented that they are not able to find older posts. I agree that the layout is not intuitive. Depending on your browser, you should be able to access the archive, which shows all posts in reverse chronological order. The homepage should show this menu of options.
Alternatively, I could change the layout to list posts in reverse chronological order. Please vote if you have an opinion.
The Substack mobile app should already show posts in reverse chronological order. Browsers, devices, apps: so many combinations! Just let me know if you can’t see something you believe you should and I can help troubleshoot.
